Timothy Gross received the academy's leadership award, the highest honor as voted on by academy peers and staff. James Signorello was named valedictorian for maintaining the highest grade point average.
Other recruits graduating with high honors include Melissa M. Chavez, Glenn H. Dillard , Joseph Herring Jr.,John Liberty, David Martel, Ernest Morgan and Michael Walters.
The commencement exercise comes at the end of 19 weeks of intensive law enforcement training -- considered the academic portion of instruction.
The graduates next must pass 18 weeks of field training before they can receive a permanent assignment.
