Bill Harrig, 68, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 16, 1929, in Superior, Neb. A resident for one year, he was a retired electrician and an Army Air Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; two daughters, Suzanne Roge of Montgomery, Ill., and Lisa Wrobleski of Bolingbrook, Ill.; one son, Will Harrig Jr. of Naperville, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Robbie Howe of Romeoville, Ill., and Jackie Church of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; one stepson, Mac Sherrill of Phoenix; one sister, Gerry Williams of Superior; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be in Superior. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
BONNIE D. HILL SR.
Bonnie D. Hill Sr., 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 19, 1937, in Louisiana. A new resident, he was a self-employed landscaper.
He is survived by five sons, Bonnie Jr.; Robert, Carry, Anthony and John; five daughters, Pauletta Tate, Loretta Brooks, Marilyn Blanchett, Daphne Dixon and Michell Baker; one sister, Louise Holmes; 37 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Monday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
EDWARD KESSELS
Edward Kessels, 76, of Boulder City died Thursday in a local hospital. A retired self-employed machinest and World War II Navy veteran, he was born April 20, 1922, in Denver.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; one son, John Edward Kessels of Palmyra, Va.; two daughters, Karen Michelle Tyler and Linda Susan Kenny, both of New York; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Burial will be in California. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
DAVALEE ANN MCCARTHY
Davalee Ann McCarthy, 60, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born June 18, 1937, in Portland, Ore. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker and worked for the Central Intelligence Agency for five years.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; two sons, Kevin McCarthy and Craig McCarthy, and one stepson, Sean McCarthy, all of California; two sisters, Dixie Crumrine of Oregon and Dolores Roth of California; one brother, Paul Cagle of Oregon; and two grandchildren.
Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2121 Western Ave., Suite A-3, is handling arrangements.
PRECIOUS MARIE MONROE
Precious Marie Monroe, died Tuesday, her date of birth, in a local hospital.
She is survived by her mother, Tina Monroe.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
JUDITH KAY NELSON
Judith Kay Nelson, 30, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born March 18, 1968, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, David E. Sr.; one son, David E. Nelson Jr.; one daughter, Sierra Kathleen Nelson; her mother, Marilyn Francis Sheetz; two brothers, Jeffrey Lee Moore and David Herbert Moore III; two sisters, Nancy Ann Ralyea and Linda M. Moore; two nieces, Christina E. Ralyea and Krystal Moore; and three nephews, Charles J. Ralyea, Curtis L. Ralyea and Jeffrey Moore Jr.
Visitation is scheduled 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. services Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
VIRGINIA M. NORRIS
Virginia M. Norris, 79, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born June 17, 1918, in Montana. A resident for 14 years, she was a clerk for GTE.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary and Margaret, both of California.

ROBERT JACKSON OAKLEY JR.
Robert Jackson Oakley Jr., 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 14, 1927, in St. Louis. A resident for 16 years, he was a steel-pipe company executive, a Navy veteran and a member of the Las Vegas Jazz Society.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Corinne; one son, Robert J. Oakley III of San Diego; one daughter, Christine of Pullman, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
GENEVA FAITH PHILLIPS
Geneva Faith Phillips, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born in Utah. A resident for one year, she was a proprietor of a private club.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Forgy of Utah.
Burial will be in Utah. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
BETTY PLACHTER
Betty Plachter, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 30, 1912, in Lancaster, Pa. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired waitress.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony; one daughter, Dolores Corre of Las Vegas; one son, Ed Shuman of Boulder City; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to Boulder City Hospital, Long Term Care Activity Program, 901 Adams Blvd., Boulder City, NV 89005.
JULIA ALEXIS RIVERA
Julia Alexis Rivera, died Saturday, her date of birth, in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her parents, Penny and Paul Rivera, one brother, Nathan Rivera, two sisters, Paula Rivera and Brenda Harlin, and her grandparents, Patricia White Pracitto and Anthony Pracitto, David White and Carmen and Ruben Rivera, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Memory Gardens.
ELTON D. SMITH
Elton D. Smith, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 17, 1922, in Devine, Texas. A resident for 10 years, he was a painter in the construction industry and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Velma M.; three sons, Leslie Derwood Smith of Myrtle Creek, Ore., Jepthy Lee Smith of Las Vegas and Winslow Dean Smith of Seaside, Ore.; one daughter, Kimberly Maurine Smitherman of Las Vegas; two brothers, Orville H. Smith of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jason L. Smith of Pleasanton, Texas; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Saturday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
PALMA 'BOBBIE' USAITIS
Palma "Bobbie" Usaitis, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Durango, Colo. She was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 39 years, she was a retired bookkeeper/property manager for a private business.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley; one son, Steve Usaitis of Durango; and three sisters, Mary Danasco and Jo Dorris, both of Las Vegas, and Stella Hatzfeld of Diamond Bar, Calif.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.
