UNLV junior Ray Brewer, sports editor of UNLV's school newspaper the Rebel Yell and a Las Vegas Sun correspondent, has been selected as winner of the 1998 Rolex/Golf Digest Collegiate Journalism Award. Brewer, a communications major at UNLV, was selected the overall winner by a panel of editors at Golf Digest for his coverage of the 1998 National Champion UNLV golf team. He was the runner-up for the award last year. In addition to receiving a monetary stipend and certificate in recognition of his honor, Brewer will be considered for an internship with Golf Digest.
