Three members of school board push bond issue forward

"Mine will continue to be a 'No' vote," said Trustee Carol McCracken. "I don't think it will succeed. If it passed, it wouldn't be enough to meet our needs."
McCracken, along with Trustee Cynthia Waldow, voted against trying a bond saying voters would not support it. A survey of residents earlier this year showed more than 50 percent opposed a bond.
But Board President Dan Lediard said that, given the sad state of the district's aging schools, something has to be done.
"We have no choice," he said. "Voters have got to put kids ahead of their own personal agendas."
