Ranch owners sue county commissioners
Wednesday, June 10, 1998 | 10:15 a.m.
On May 8, the commissioners denied the Walker River Land Corp. application to subdivide the property into parcels.
Commissioner Bob Milz raised a litany of reasons for denial including dangerous roads, the need for access by the Nevada Department of Transportation and concerns regarding fire and emergency response time.
The lawsuit claims any issues involving the environment, culture and resources are beyond the scope of the ordinance governing large parcel maps and are not valid.
It asks the commission decision be overturned and the parcel map be approved without further delay. It also seeks damages including all legal fees.
