Shadow Creek golf course professional Wes Weston is the third former UNLV golfer to qualify for the June 18-21 U.S. Open after firing rounds of 72 and 69 during qualifying competition at Lake Merced Golf & Country Club in Daly City, Calif. Weston, 38, joins Edward Fryatt and Ted Oh on the list of former Rebels who have qualified for the 156-player U.S. Open, to be played at the Olympic Club in San Francisco.
Brenda Knott defended her Southern Nevada Women's Amateur golf championship, shooting 75-74--149 in the 36-hole event at Las Vegas Paiute Resort.
