"We have a hiring crunch and (the patrol) is having to hire 200 troopers in the next three to four years," Flabi said. "Everybody is looking for a good job and this is definitely a promising career."
"We need to get more women because we just don't have enough women on the force," he added.
There are 26 women working statewide, eight of whom work in the southern Nevada counties of Clark, Lincoln and Nye. The other women work out of the Carson City, Reno and Elko offices.
