Alliance Gaming shuffles management

Alliance Gaming Corp. has bolstered its management team to help integrate its Bally Gaming and Bally Systems units into the company.
Alliance, Nevada's largest slot-route operator with 6,400 machines statewide, acquired Bally in late 1996 and has concentrated on consolidating the acquisition, which includes a strong European presence, into its operations.
Changes announced Thursday at Bally include:
+. The addition of Gary Matus, formerly executive vice president in Bank of America's corporate marketing group, as senior vice president of Alliance's marketing department, where he will be responsible for market research, product development, customer support and other duties.
+. The addition of Robert Howells, a former executive with Direct Medical Knowledge and Information Access Co., as senior vice president of sales.
+. The addition of an as-yet unnamed senior vice president of operations.
+. The promotion of Michael LeStrange to general manager of Bally Systems.
+. The addition of John Hudson, formerly of Applied Materials and Syntex Corp., as vice president of human resources.
+. The addition of Marcia Martin, formerly with GES Exposition Services and Weider Sporting Goods, as vice president and corporate controller.
+. The addition of Mark Lipparelli, formerly with Casino Data Systems, as vice president of gaming operations for wide-area progressive systems.
+. The additions of Robert Fier, formerly with Boyd Gaming, as marketing project manager, and John Glasser, formerly with International Game Technology, as director of national accounts.
+. The addition of Roy Garrett, formerly with CDS, IGT and Sodak Gaming, as director of Southern Nevada route operations.
+. And the shift of Hans Kloss from co-managing director of Bally Wulff operations in Germany to control of Australian and South African operations and participation in product development at Bally Gaming and Systems.
