UNLV presents International Film Series

Films sceduled for June include:
John Woo's "The Killer," shown June 4, is the only acclaimed Hong Kong action film available uncut and in its original form. The film is in color with English subtitles. Woo has taken the most sensational elements of American action movies and combined them into films of unparalleled ferocity and velocity, featuring sharply choeographed gunfights and chases.
"Open Doors," an Italian film with English subtitles, directed by Gianni Amelio, will be shown June 11. Featuring the late Gian Maria Volonte, the movie depicts a trial of a murderer that seems open and shut, until the judget digs beneath the surface to uncover devastating questions.
"Capitaine Conan," a 1996 French film with English subtitles, will be featured June 18. "Capitaine Conan" is a brilliantly photographed epic of the Great War and its aftermath by renowned filmmaker Bertrand Tavernier.
"Un Unforgettable Summer" will be featured on June 25. The film is directed by Lucian Pintilie in Romanian, Bulgarian and French with English subtitles. "An Unforgettable Summer" is an unconventional love story set against a background of political confusion.
