Tinseltown tunes -- The Henderson Civic Symphony presents "Give My Regards to Hollywood: Musical Favorites from Broadway and the Silver Screen," at 7:30 today. The free concert features baritone Paul Kreider, conductor/director of UNLV's Opera Theater and music department chair, and his student, soprano Stephanie Rose, who perform duets and solos from the musicals "Showboat," "Les Miserables" and "Phantom of the Opera," as well as the films "The Great Escape," "The Little Mermaid" and "Silverado." Bring chairs, blankets and picnic supplies to the concert at Civic Plaza Center, 200 Water St.

Homegrown talent -- Local musicians will be showcased Saturday at Castlefest, a benefit for the WorldFolk Radio program, which airs at 7 p.m. Sundays on KLAV-1230 A.M. The program is a forum for local musicians to be heard through interviews and live sets. Admission to the event, being held at The Castle, 650 W. Sunset Road in Henderson, is $3. Paying homage -- Rain, a tribute to the Beatles, performs at 8 p.m. Saturday at Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza in Lorenzi Park. The band, which formed in Los Angeles during the 1970's, performed the soundtrack for Dick Clark's motion picture "The Birth of the Beatles." Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the gate. Theater

Man behind the mask -- "Masked Marvels & Wondertales," a one-man show starring Michael Cooper, features his handcrafted masks, original stories of courage and stiltdancing in a program, which is part of the Children's Summer Concert Series. Admission to today's 7 p.m. performance at Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is $3.

Thespians at work -- The Off Broadway Theater Actors Workshop, directed by Carl Butto, presents its Summer Showcase on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. Scenes from movies, television and theater will be featured in the free performance at the Off Broadway Theater, 900 E. Karen Ave.

Stars and cars -- Sports trading cards, memorabilia and other collectibles, including Hot Wheels cars and Starting Lineup items, will be displayed during National Show Production's semi-annual show, today through Sunday at the Boulevard Mall. More than 50 dealers from several states are scheduled to participate in the free show, which is open during mall hours.
