Letter: Las Vegas native has own memories of Morris
Tuesday, July 28, 1998 | 10:35 a.m.
I am a native of Las Vegas, born and raised here, graduated from Las Vegas High in 1941 and knew Bill many years. Therefore, I thought that I would inform everyone of his forming a social gathering of the alumni of Las Vegas High; June 10 marked its 21st year. When the group was small it was at his home, when it grew larger it was at other facilities. It was greatly enjoyed by all.
I was also was an active scholarship donor at UNLV. I traveled 12 years to some of the football games, but to all the basketball games, home and away. Bill and Vivienne enjoyed the out-of-town games also when Bill was able to go.
One time I remember when we played the UNR football team in Reno, Bill brought a large trailer for the Las Vegas fans to keep warm and have a barbecue on the parking lot grounds.
Yes, he will indeed be missed by all; his smile was enjoyed by all.
