Letter: Defense of Clinton doesn’t sit well in reader’s stomach

Monday, July 27, 1998 | 9:41 a.m.

I had a problem attempting to hold back the nausea when trying to digest the thousands of words in Brian Greenspun's Where I Stand column (July 19). Once again, he has used lawyerese to try to defend his buddy in the Oval Office.

Between Brian and the White House press secretary, we are bombarded with so much spin we can't make out the good guys from the bad. Brian is again siding with the minority who feel that by placing blame on the messenger, Kenneth Starr, we will forget the problems within the White House.

Doesn't he realize that those who appear before the grand jury and are required to "purchase" an attorney would have to do neither if the president of the nation would step up and admit, under oath, or deny those things he is accused of doing.

Or doesn't the truth mean anything to the White House Teflon Don?
