Although an Aug. 17 trial date has been set, it is likely to be postponed because purported wiretap evidence could result in additional criminal charges, Assistant U.S. Attorney Gregory Damm told a federal magistrate. Dennis Nikrasch, 56, will await trial in custody on charges he was the mastermind of the scam that resulted in numerous jackpots -- at least two where the prizes were cars.
Also charged are Eugene Bulgarino, 65, his wife, Joan Bulgarino, 65, and Ronnie McElveen, 59. All are from Las Vegas except McElveen, who resides in New Orleans.
