June was wet, cloudy and cool

"The Pacific Northwest-type of weather caused 10 or more wet days and unusual cloudiness during June, which is usually one of the state's driest and sunniest months," he said.
Daytime highs were kept especially low, with temperatures averaging 5 to 10 degrees below normal, he said.
James noted that as of Tuesday, Reno had yet to reach 90 degrees, a mark that is generally reached by early June.
It took until June 26 for the mercury in Las Vegas to reach 100, he said, adding that the date missed setting a record by just four days.
In Elko, the temperature topped 80 degrees for the first time this year on Sunday - 266 days after it dipped below that level on Oct. 4, 1997, the National Weather Service previously reported.
James said precipitation for the water year that ended June 30 is above normal across the state, except for an area from Honey Lake to Pyramid Lake in western Nevada and a portion of the northeast.
Statewide, June's temperatures ranged from lows in the 20s and 30s in the northeast to highs of 110-115 in the extreme south.
In comparison, the record low temperature for the month was 8 degrees, recorded in 1892 at Belmont in central Nevada, he said. The record high was 125 at Laughlin in 1995.
