Striking unions at the Frontier are hoping to see the hotel disciplined by the county for running ads implying the entire Las Vegas Strip is on strike.
The Frontier, which has been undergoing a strike since September, has been running ads in the Los Angeles Times that read "Culinary Union Strikes Las Vegas Strip."
This Friday, the Clark County Liquor and Gaming Licensing Board is scheduled to discuss the ads' effect on Las Vegas' tourism from Southern California.
Union members argue that the ads hurt all Strip resorts.
"The ad is really misleading and there are a lot of casinos that are just hanging on right now during the recession," said Scott MacKenzie, a Culinary Union representative.
Ned Solomon, Clark County director of business licensing, said the issue will only be discussed, and no action can be taken Friday.
"It will probably go to the District Attorney's office to determine whether the beard can act on it," he said.
The county cannot get involved in a labor dispute, but only act on a regulatory problem. If the county does take action against the Frontier it will be the first reprimand because of an ad, Solomon said.
