Frontier pulls hare-raising ads

The bunny doesn't keep going and going At least not on the Frontier Hotel's television ads.
The Frontier stopped running ads Thursday that mimicked the Eveready battery commercials in which a pink bunny pounds a drum.
"The Eveready Company, which has invested $50 million in promoting an advertisement with a rabbit and a drum, has asked us to pull the ads," the hotel management said in a written release. "The Frontier Hotel will comply."
The Frontier ads were designed to send a negative message about the Culinary Union, which is striking the hotel. The bunny in the Frontier ads beat a drum that bore the Culinary name and carried a sign that read "More dues."
The union recently increased its monthly dues because of the strike.
Culinary leaders expressed disgust over the ads when they began airing last week.
"I don't respond to garbage," said Jim Arnold, union secretary-treasurer.
