Las Vegas City Councilman Larry Brown collected an additional $100,000 in campaign contributions after his election last June, according to records filed with the Nevada secretary of state's office.
The final tally of his campaign contributions totalled $439,876.53 -- at least $38,000 less than his opponent, then-incumbent Matthew Callister, raised for the Ward 4 seat.
Brown received more than $50,000 from local casinos and casino companies. The biggest contributor was Station Casinos, giving him $10,000 spread out over three payments. More than $12,000 of his campaign dollars came from billboard and media companies -- big supporters of Brown during the campaign.
Candidates aren't required to disclose in the filing the expenses of the campaign, though earlier reports indicated it cost Brown $328,280 to run.
The secretary of state's filing is different than those used by the city and Clark County. Those reports require that the expenses for the campaign also be included. Also, they are only required to be filed once every election.
The Ward 4 seat was the only City Council position contested in the June election.
