Starwood to meet with gaming regulators

In Mississippi, ITT Corp. owns the Sheraton Casino in Tunica County. ITT also owns Caesars World resorts and the Sheraton chain.
Starwood, the nation's largest real estate investment trust, now owns or manages hotels bearing the Westin, Marriott and Doubletree names, among others.
Starwood hopes to complete its purchase of ITT by February.
Starwood and ITT have gone ahead and asked for a change in the Sheraton ownership and license in Mississippi.
The state Gaming Commission must approve any change in ownership or licensing of a casino and its property.
The Sheraton Casino opened in August 1994.
