James S. "Sherm" Allison, 91, of Marshalltown, Iowa, died Monday in an Iowa care center. He was born Oct. 17, 1906, in State Center, Iowa. A former Las Vegas resident, he worked for Fairall & Associates for several years, was a World War II Army veteran who served with the 938th Engineer Aviation Battalion in Burma and China, a member of the Lions Club and the Souvenir Club and was a volunteer at the Iowa Veterans Home.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances; and one brother, Dr. Archie F. Allison.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; two stepsons, Arch S. Allison and James B. Allison, both of Marshalltown; two stepdaughters, Roberta J. Olson of Marshalltown and Rebecca S.A. Lievens of Aplington, Iowa; one brother, Dr. M.P. Allison of Northwood, Iowa; one niece; one nephew; 11 step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Pursel-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory, Marshalltown, is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the First Congregational Church Endowment Fund, Marshalltown.
VICKI ASHMENT
Vicki Ashment, 49, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 12, 1948, in Sesser, Ill. A 14-year resident, she was a grocery store checker and a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.
She is survived by her husband, Theo; five sons, Scott Ashment of California, Micky Ashment, Tex Ashment and Eric Ashment, all of Las Vegas and Billy Ashment of Schertz, Texas; three daughters, Susan Christenson of Grace, Idaho, Amber Armstrong of Boise, Idaho, and Monique Maxwell of Las Vegas; her mother, Modena McClellan of Illinois; three sisters; one brother; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
LILLIAN O. BEECHER
Lillian O. Beecher, 93, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 31, 1904, in Bennettsville, S.C. A four-year resident, she was a retired seamstress and a member of the Garment Workers Union.
She is survived by three nephews, Charles W. King of Las Vegas, Clifton Thomas of the Bronx, N.Y., and Horace Turnage of Baltimore; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
ROBERT K. CAMPBELL
Robert K. Campbell, 56, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 23, 1941, in Gary, Ind. A 17-year resident, he was a factory maintenance worker.
He is survived by his wife, Adele; two daughters, Denise Campbell of Gary and Emily Campbell of Las Vegas; two sons, Robert Campbell Jr. of Gary and Eddy Campbell of Aurora, Colo.; his stepmother, Earline Owens of Atlanta; three brothers, Errol Campbell of Las Vegas and Thomas Campbell and Larry Campbell, both of Atlanta; four sisters, Betty McCulley of Pasadena, Calif., Joyce Minks of Gary and Sharon Leaks and Leslie Campbell, both of Atlanta; numerous nieces and nephews; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Graveside services will be noon Monday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
LARRY MILTON FREEBAIRN
Larry Milton Freebairn, 56, of Henderson died Monday in Los Angeles. He was born Feb. 20, 1941, in Los Angeles. A three-year resident, he was a carpenter at Primadonna Resorts Inc. (30 years in the construction industry) and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Margaret J. Freebairn of Boulder City; three sons Scott Freebairn of Henderson and Tyrone S. Freebairn and Mitchell Freebairn, both of San Marcos, Calif.; and one granddaughter, Shianne Freebairn of Henderson.
Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2121 Western Ave., Suite A-3, is handling arrangements.

ARTHUR HAROLD FUNK
Arthur Harold Funk, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Ohio. A two-year resident, he was a diesel mechanic for a trucking company and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen; two sons, Kenneth Funk of Las Vegas and James Funk of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
LILLIAN E. HOLBROOK
Lillian E. Holbrook, 71, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 8, 1926, in Wisconsin. A five-year resident, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Jace Engles of California; three daughters, Christine E. Jones, Karen Cheatham and Anita Engles, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Arthur Morrill and George Morrill Jr., and two sisters, Helen Steiber and Elaine, all of Wisconsin; and three grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is arranging private services.
JERENE SUGARMAN ISAACSON
Jerene Sugarman Isaacson, 94, of Las Vegas died Dec. 26 in a local convalescent center. She was born March 12, 1903, in Chicago. A 1 1/2-year resident, she was a retired elementary schoolteacher.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Isaacson of Las Vegas and Louis Isaacson of Westover, Vt.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

MARY MARTHA KLINE
Mary Martha Kline, 83, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born April 29, 1914, in Ohio. A 30-year resident, she was disabled.
She is survived by two sons, Harry Kline and Robert Kline, both of Fairborn, Ohio; one daughter, Martha Olson of Las Vegas; one brother, the Rev. William M. Branscomb of Birmingham, Ala.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Ohio. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
GIANNI JAMES EDWARD LEE
Gianni James Edward Lee, 10, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 21, 1987, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a student.
He is survived by his parents, James and Amber Lee; and two sisters, Jessica Lee and Sarah Lee.
Services will be 4 p.m. Sunday in Paradise Bible Baptist Church. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
HELEN MOURNING
Helen Mourning, 81, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Harrison, Ark. A six-year resident, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; one daughter, Inez Mourning-Kelley of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.
ALFREDA MURPHY
Alfreda Murphy, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 9, 1924, in Parsons, Kan. A 22-year resident, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, George H.; one daughter, Connie Quinnelly of Mannford, Okla.; one sister, Dorothy Dunning of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

AVELINO RAMIREZ
Avelino Ramirez, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 5, 1932, in the Philippines. A 20-year resident, he was a retired hotel carver.
He is survived by his wife, Elouise; three daughters, Melody Ramirez, Loida Ramirez and Roselyn Javier, and three sons, Alejandro Ramirez, Roberto Ramirez and Jeffrey Ramirez, all of Las Vegas; two sons, Nelia Aguirre of San Diego and Thelma Belen of Las Vegas; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in St. Anne's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

LOUISE M. 'LOU' SALVATY
Louise M. "Lou" Salvaty, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born April 23, 1908, in Hoboken, N.J. A 35-year resident, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

HERBERT J. ROWE
Herbert J. Rowe, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 19, 1923, in Akron, Ohio. A 52-year resident, he was a retired doctor of chiropractic medicine, a World War II Army veteran and past president of the Nevada State Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
He is survived by his wife, Malvene; one daughter, Randi Miller of Las Vegas; two sons, Michael Rowe of Las Vegas and Ken Rowe of Berea, Ky.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

RUTH H. SOUTHWORTH
Ruth H. Southworth, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 11, 1917, in Tremonton, Utah. A 45-year resident, she was a retired hotel food server.
She is survived by one son, Bill Southworth of Las Vegas; one sister, Virginia Puderbaugh of San Jose, Calif.; and one grandchild.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
