The UNLV baseball program cracked its first national poll since the end of the 1996 season, when it appeared Monday as the No. 22 team, according to the Baseball Weekly/ESPN Coaches poll.
UNLV, fresh off a weekend split with then-No. 13 Call State Fullerton, currently is 12-4 on the season. It next plays three games against Fresno State Friday-Sunday at Wilson Stadium.
The Rebels, however, did not rank in either the Baseball America or Collegiate Baseball polls, which also were released Monday.
The Baseball Weekly/ESPN poll is voted on by 33 Division I head coaches, representing members of the American Baseball Coaches Association.
