Friday, Feb. 20, 1998 | 11:21 a.m.
The suit claims the plan contributes significant air pollution to the Grand Canyon, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and the Mohave Valley, located southeast of Las Vegas.
Southern California Edison, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the Arizona-based Salt River Project and the Nevada Power Co. share ownership of the plant.
The utilities promised to fight the lawsuit, saying it was an attempt to garner public attention.
