CARSON CITY -- Four senior citizens from Clark County are among 20 to be honored Friday in Sparks for their volunteer efforts last year.
The Elvirita Lewis Forum and the state Division of Aging Services are co-sponsoring the Aging Awareness Luncheon at which the Frankie Sue Del Papa Silver State Senior Volunteer Awards will be presented for the first time.
Clark County residents being honored are: Julian and Lillian Wallace, who helped promote the "Seniors United" organization in Clark County; Doris Ronchetto, for her volunteer effort at the senior center in Laughlin; and Nonann Nicholson for her work at Child Haven where she volunteers 20 hours a week.
"Older residents who have taken the time to volunteer their services to the community make an invaluable contribution to our quality of life," said Del Papa, Nevada's attorney general.
Two seniors from Washoe County and one from each of the remaining counties will be honored.
