Jerry V. Boyd, 79, of Las Vegas died Feb. 12 in a local health care center. He was born Nov. 11, 1918, in Bexar County, Texas. A resident for three years, he was a homemaker and an Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Louise; two sons, Michael Boyd and Jerry Boyd Jr.; three daughters, Darleen Ann Sam Boyd Rodriguez, Sharon and Kathy Tyson; two brothers, J.T. and Jesse; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

SHAWN JOSEPH CONNOLLY

Shawn Joseph Connolly, 43, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 10, 1954, in Burbank, Calif. A resident for 28 years, he was a tile setter, a member of International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 3.

He is survived by his wife, April; one daughter, Trisha Connolly, and his mother, Mary Butterfield, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Brian Connolly of Maui, Hawaii, and Michael Connolly of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Erin Connolly of Las Vegas and Christiana Rising of Torrance, Calif.

LEONARD EDWARD DANIELS JR.

Leonard Edward Daniels Jr., 62, of Henderson died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 12, 1935, in Smithland, Iowa. A resident for 18 years, he was an Army veteran and a member of the Henderson Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by two brothers, Daryl Daniels of South Sioux, Neb., and Arvin Daniels of Sioux City, Iowa; and one sister, Debra Daniels of Merrill, Iowa.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 8:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

TOM DUESLER

Tom Duesler, 45, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 20, 1952, in Garrett, Ind. A resident for 20 years, he was a longtime production foreman for Timet, a 10-year employee at Stauffer Chemical Co., a Vietnam War Air Force veteran, a member of the Southern Nevada Officials Association and active in the Henderson Little League.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; one daughter, Lindsay Duesler, and one son, Christopher Duesler, both of Henderson; and his parents, Donald and Ethel Duesler of Auburn, Ind.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Friday in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow at in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

BERTRAM R. EICHENFIELD

Bertram R. Eichenfield, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 8, 1920, in New York. A two-year resident, he was an electrician and an Army veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Ira M. Eichenfield of Las Vegas, Harvey Eichenfield of Arlington, Wash., and Gregg Eichenfield of St. Paul, Minn.; one brother, Stuart Eichenfield of Baldwin, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in California.

FRANCES L. GARRETT

Frances L. Garrett, 67, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 20, 1930, in Wheel, Tenn. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, What Friends Are For, American Legion, Fordyce Club and Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Jr.; two sons, Thomas A. Garrett III of Henderson and Rodney Douglas Garrett of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Elmo Arnold of Indianapolis; three sisters, Mattie L. Biggers and Rosie Ward, both of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Marie Walls of Wheel; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday in Bunker Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Sunday in Bunker Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

MOANA 'LISA' HAYNES

Moana "Lisa" Haynes, 21, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born March 8, 1976, in Los Angeles. A resident for seven years, she was a telecommunications operator.

She is survived by her mother, Moana Keil of Long Beach, Calif.; her father and stepmother, Robert and Fua Haynes of Henderson; four sisters, Wanda Haynes of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., Paula Green of Henderson, Katherine Haynes-Sanstad of Berkeley, Calif., and Joi Haynes of Henderson; and one brother, Alex Haynes of Long Beach.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

QUINCY EUGENE HUGHES

Quincy Eugene Hughes, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 2, 1940, in Springfield, Mo. A resident for 18 years, he was an aircraft mechanic in the military and a retired Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Quincy E. Hughes Jr., and one daughter, Crystal L. Hughes, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Donald, Ronald and Jerry Lee Parrish, and one sister, Beverly Beezley, all of Missouri; and one grandchild.

RUTH KAILING

Ruth Kailing, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 1, 1916, in Birmingham, Ala. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired executive secretary with Summa Corp.

She is survived by one niece, Patricia Dodge of Las Vegas.

Services will be noon Saturday in Christ Episcopal Church. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

FLORENCE Y. OKADA

Florence Y. Okada, 71, of Las Vegas died Feb. 12 in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 19, 1926, in Honolulu. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired professor in the School of Nursing at Community College of Southern Nevada.

She is survived by four brothers; and two sisters.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.

EARL HENRY PERKINS JR.

Earl Henry Perkins Jr., 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 3, 1927, in Los Angeles. A resident for 39 years, he was a roofer and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Valerie Aguirre of Las Vegas and Susan Rosales of Los Angeles; one son, Darrell Perkins of Laughlin; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Edward Cardona Powers, 70, of Las Vegas died Jan. 18 in Las Vegas. A longtime resident, he was born Oct. 13, 1927.

Katie Taylor, 54, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 7, 1943, in St. Joseph, La. A resident for 33 years, she was a waitress and a member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by her husband, George Sr.; two sons, George Taylor Jr. of Newport News, Va., and Craig Taylor of North Las Vegas; one daughter, Tanya Hyde of Greenville, N.C.; her father, James Sexton, and one brother, Robert Sexton, both of New Orleans; four sisters, Annie White, Clara and Angelina Sparks, all of New Orleans, and Bessie Jackson of North Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in Bunker Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

SILVIANO JUAN VALDEZ

Silviano Juan Valdez, 47, of Henderson died Jan. 2 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 27, 1950, in Henderson. A lifelong resident, he was a carpenter, a Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of the Carpenters Union.

He is survived by his mother, Anna Valdez; three brothers, Theodore Jacquez, Tony Valdez and Damon Valdez; and one sister, Ann Hart.

Jean W. Walker, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born April 16, 1914, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for 34 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Joe A.; one son, David A. Cowan of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
