Snow, wet roads cause problems

The sunny weather was expected to continue through Thursday, but another Pacific storm was expected to bring more rain Thursday night and Friday.
Tuesday's storm left a blanket of snow and ice on the mountains around the Las Vegas Valley, forcing the closure of Red Rock Canyon scenic loop and State Route 160 for a while.
Drivers unaccustomed to the wet weather kept accident investigators busy.
There were 56 accidents on county roadways as of Tuesday evening and more than 100 on city streets.
The latest storm brought the valley's rainfall total for February to 1.72 inches, matching the fourth-highest on record in the city.
