Sara Beth Brown is vice president and regional manager for Wells Fargo private client services in northern Nevada. She also teaches classes for the Western Banking School and at the University of Nevada, Reno College of Business.
She will fill the unexpired term of Walt Higgins, former Sierra Pacific Power Co. president, who resigned when he accepted a new job out of state.
Brown's appointment will expire at the end of June, 1999.
The Commission on Economic Development, chaired by Nevada's lieutenant governor, works to lure new businesses to the state and to stimulate the expansion of existing companies.
"Ms. Brown's great professional experience in northern Nevada and her familiarity with the business community make her a significant additional to the commission," Miller said.
"I this time of rapid economic development in Nevada, the commission will greatly benefit from her insight."
