CARSON CITY -- Brian Krolicki, who has been chief deputy state treasurer for the past seven years, said today that he wants to succeed Treasurer Bob Seale, who is not running for a third term.
Krolicki, 37, a Republican, said he regards the job as "hands-on," adding that it requires the level of skill found on Wall Street.
This will be Krolicki's first run for an elected office. He lives in Douglas County and serves on its planning commission.
Before working in the treasurer's office, Krolicki worked for Bankers Trust Co., in New York for the finance firm of Smith Barney in San Francisco and in the Middle East. He is a graduate of Stanford University.
He is the first candidate to officially announce for the office, which last year handled a record cash flow of $27 billion.
