Three black history displays have been set up by English teacher Mary Gafford at Roy Martin Middle School, 2800 E. Stewart Ave. Her seventh-grade students are learning African American history by reading the biography of and viewing a movie about Frederick Douglass, reading Langston Hughes poems and the story of Mary McLeod Bethune. For more information, call Mary Gaffor at 799-7922.
