William Joseph Abdo Jr., 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 3, 1932, in Washington, D.C. A resident for 18 years, he was a firefighter.

He is survived by his wife, Corinne; one son, William Abdo III of Phoenix; one daughter, Lori Aiken, and his mother, Theresa Vendemia, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Vincent Eric Banks died Sunday after birth in a local hospital. He touched his parents' lives in the brief time he was here and they'll never forget the way he looked. He will always be in their hearts.

He is survived by his parents, Jered and Laura Banks, one sister, Lexa Banks, and two brothers, Tylor Banks and Christian Banks, all of Henderson; and his grandparents, William and Mavis Pitkin of Henderson and William and Lana Christian of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Charles D. Barnard, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in Los Angeles. He was born Dec. 3, 1928, in Eunice, W.Va. A resident for six months, he was a hospital food service coordinator and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by two brothers, Ralph Barnard and Richard Barnard, both of Cleveland; and one sister, Dorothy Hancock of Birmingham, Ala.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Geneva L. Belford, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 7, 1920, in Bristow, Okla. A resident for 62 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary Gale, Glenda Piper, Patricia Chasteen and Laurene Belford, and two sons, Al Belford and Brian Belford, all of Las Vegas; four brothers; one sister; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Friday in Bunker Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Bunker Chapel.

Josephine Brouwers, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 24, 1920, in Winterhaven, Fla. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John; one daughter, Joanne Pickard of Bloomingdale, Ohio; two sons, John Brouwers of Las Vegas and Ronnie Davis of Miami Beach; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Eugenia Clements, 85, of Boulder City, died Jan. 13 in a local care center. She was born Sept. 27, 1912, in Chicago. A longtime resident, she was a cocktail waitress.

Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bunker Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled private arrangements.

George B. "Chick" Connery Jr., 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 1, 1921, in East Providence, R.I. A resident for 54 years, he owned Chick's Wheel Alignment.

He is survived by his wife, Shirleen; one daughter, Patty Talbott of Blythe, Calif.; three sons, J.C. Connery, Danny Connery and Bobby Connery, all of Nevada; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continued until 8 p.m. today in Bunker Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Memory Gardens.

Ann Carew Crammer, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 3, 1915, in New York. A resident for five years, she was an error controller for Bullocks department store.

She is survived by one son, Brian Crammer; and four grandchildren.

Marion G. Debates, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Worcester, Mass. A resident for 44 years, she was a retired laundry attendant for a dry cleaner.

She is survived by three daughters, Sandy Gibson, Carolyn Bratten and Dawn Saxton, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Lois Dagle of Las Vegas and June Malone of Worcester; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Nathan Adelson Hospice chapel. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Virginia Duplon, 45, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 16, 1952, in the Philippines. A resident for one year, she was a hotel cashier.

She is survived by her husband, Rogelio; two daughters, Marianne Duplon of San Diego and Elizabeth Duplon of Las Vegas; her parents, Mamerta and Andres Nadal, and five sisters, Lydia Nuezca, Carmelita Dimatulac, Remy Abalos and Eleonar Acebedo, all of Carson, Calif., and Estrella Sapitola of Gardena, Calif.; and three brothers, Andres Nadal Jr. of Lakewood, Calif., Virgilio Nadal of West Covina, Calif., and Armando Nadal of Carson.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 7 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will be 8:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

William Howard Fater, 59, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 29, 1938, in Michigan. A resident for one year, he was a truck driver and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Buelah Fater; and two sisters, Phyllis Bates and Shirley Karsten of Rogers City, Mich.

Leonard Lee Francis, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 16, 1925, in Saratoga, Wyo. A resident for 38 years, he was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons Local 797 and a former member of the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores A.; three sons, Larry Lee Francis, Bruce Ed Francis and Kevin Dain Francis, and one daughter, Tamara Lynn Cox, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Betty Wall of Medford, Ore.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. A private burial will follow.

Blanche G. Friedman, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born April 9, 1917, in Newark, N.J. A resident for 42 years, she was a homemaker, a lifetime member of Hadassah and B'nai B'rith, a member of Sisterhood of Temple Beth Sholom, Variety Club and City of Hope.

She is survived by her husband, Myron; one daughter, Bette Lou Rohm of Encino, Calif.; one son, Michael Friedman of Las Vegas; one brother, Martin Meisner of Monmouth Beach, N.J.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

James Marion Gordon, 58, of Las Vegas died Feb. 2 in Las Vegas. He was born July 29, 1939. A resident for two months, he was a Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Michelle Coffin; two brothers, Larry Gordon and Fred Gordon; and three grandchildren.

Marie A. Gottschalk, 68, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 25, 1929, in Englewood, N.J. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired registered nurse, a eucharistic minister at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, a member of the American Lung Association and the American Nursing Association.

She is survived by her husband, Richard A.; two daughters, Grace M. Buscher of Squantum, Mass., and Frances A. Brunner of New Milford, N.J.; one brother, Henry J. Muller of Old Tappan, N.J.; and five grandchildren.

Lois M. Gray, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 4, 1923, in Columbus, Neb. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, William; three daughters, Peri K. Latherop of Casper, Wyo., Nanette Sommers of Houston and Sara Harada of Havre, Mont.; two sons, Paxton Wilson of Las Vegas and George K. Gray of Thermopolis, Wyo.; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Edward G. Harris, 70, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan 1, 1928, in New Jersey. A resident for two years, he was a retired bridge manager.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one daughter, Lori Harris-Ransom; three sons, Marc Richard Harris, Scott Edward Harris and Keith Bryant Harris; two sisters, Dolores Moore and Sylvia Harris; and eight grandchildren.

Donald Hazelitt, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 8, 1936, in Atchison, Kan. A resident for one year, he was a retired musician.

He is survived by one son, Don; three daughters, Pam Haxelitt of Pleasanton, Calif., Laura Keefer of Byron, Calif., and Lucy Hazelitt of Alameda, Calif.; two brothers, Gary Hazelitt of Las Vegas and Wes Everette of Longmont, Colo.; one sister, Leeann Unfred of Grand Junction, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

Ira Richard Menoher, 80, of Las Vegas died Jan. 27 in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 31, 1917, in Ligonier, Pa. A resident for 43 years, he was a hotel-casino houseman, a member of the Culinary Union and the Bartenders Union.

He is survived by one brother, Davis W. Menoher of Pittsburgh.

John Patrick O'Connell, 49, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 27, 1948, in New York. A resident for six years, he was a helicopter crew chief and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Heather O'Connell of Delaware; and one sister, Carol Pratt of New York.

John Panicci Jr., 55, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born April 29, 1942, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired detective and private investigator for the bomb squad and gaming industry, a member of the Italian American Club and the 10-13 Club.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; two daughters, Angela Freeney of Henderson and Catherine Scavone of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons, Michael Panicci of Centereach, N.Y., and John Panicci of Glen Cove, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-5 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Santina Patte, 78, of North Las Vegas died Dec. 20 in a local care center. She was born Sept. 9, 1919, in New York. A longtime resident, she was a laundry worker.

Dorothy "Dottie" Pettay, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born July 19, 1919, in Chicago. A resident for 43 years, she was a retired casino cocktail waitress and a member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by a lifetime of friends.

Robert Pisani-Massamormile, 58, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 6, 1939, in Naples, Italy. A resident for 22 years, he was a paint salesman at Sherman Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Massamormile; nine children; one brother, William Pisani-Massamormile of Santa Clara, Calif.; one sister, Letiza Brugano of Las Vegas; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Daniel R. Reynolds, 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 13, 1940, in Waycross, Ga. A resident for 20 years, he was an electrical engineer for the local International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Robin Altman of Tennille, Ga.; two sons, Tod Reynolds of Georgia and Daniel Reynolds of Texas; and three grandchildren.

Theodore W. Sherwood, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 9, 1937, in Seattle. A resident for six months, he was a restaurant manager and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Tammey Moore of Puyallup, Wash., and Leslie Frazee of Carlsbad, Calif.; four sons, Theodore Hanlon and Joseph Sherwood, both of Las Vegas, Barry Ortega of Arcadia, Calif., and Tom Horn of Kauai, Hawaii; one sister, Gail Gilleland of Kingston, Wash.; and 11 grandchildren.

Alwin Smith, 82, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 18, 1915, in Ruby Valley. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired cattle rancher who was born to a pioneer ranching family in Elko County and was a retired pilot for charter planes.

He is survived by his wife, Reba; two sons, J. Edward Smith of Reno and George Alwin Smith of Las Vegas; two daughters, Lynn Ellen Loiselle of Henderson and Judith Mary Harrington of Boulder City; his mother, Hazel L. Smith of Wells; two brothers, Robert Douglas Smith of Overton and Timmons S. Smith of Armstrong; two sisters, Bette Smith Supp of Lake Havasu, Ariz., and Gerry Smith Supp of Wells; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Charles T. Sullivan, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 23, 1914, in Irwin, Pa. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Julian; two daughters, Eileen Hennesey of Dublin, Ireland, and Mary Sienko of Cedar Springs, Mich.; two sons, James Sullivan of Manchester, England, and Leslie Sullivan of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Lucy Teleucky, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 9, 1910, in Philadelphia. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired federal government inspector.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald Teleucky and Alfred Teleucky, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Christine Appalucci, and one brother, Danny Iconelli, both of New Jersey; one sister, Claire Lender of Philadelphia; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Gerald Emmett Vontobel Sr., 58, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 2, 1939, in Stamford, Conn. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired 40-year manager of a medical equipment company.

He is survived by his companion, Anita Sowards, and three daughters, Cindy Francis, Joann Vontobel and Jadzia Vontobel, all of Las Vegas; one son, Gerald Emmett Vontobel Jr. of North Las Vegas; his mother, Marion Vontobel, and three brothers, George Vontobel, William Vontobel and John Vontobel, all of Stamford; and two grandchildren.

Vernell Walker, 74, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 23, 1923, in Pomerene, Ariz. A resident for 33 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by five sons, Norman Walker of Las Vegas, Vaughn Evans and Earl Evans, both of Logandale, Eldon Evans of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Everett Evans of Henderson; three daughters, Evelyn Kleinman and Jacque Possehl, both of Henderson, and Beverly Hinton of Washington, Utah; one sister, Bertha Thomas of Kirtland, N.M.; three brothers, Loman Mortenson of Lodi, Calif., Oral Mortenson of Clintonville, W.Va., and Delbert Mortenson of Pima, Ariz.; 33 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5:30-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Saturday in the Cholla Street LDS Relief Society Room. Burial will be in St. George, Utah.
