Tahoe Air Corp. plans to enter an agreement on Thursday to finance the service.
"We're getting ready to sign on the dotted line," Mark Sando, the company's on-site project general manager told the Tahoe Daily Tribune.
He said Ally Capital Corp., based in Marin County, will stake the fledgling company about $7 million for startup costs.
If the financing is approved, the company hopes to begin making the rounds for federal certification next month.
Airlines have been scared away from the south shore's high-altitude airport because of its unpredictable weather, including heavy snow in the winter and fickle winds all year.
