Remains of infant found in car trunk, mother being questioned

Investigators said Maria Liddell stated she gave birth last summer and the infant died a short time later. The birth and death weren't reported at the time by Liddell.

No charges have been filed. "We have still not received a cause of death from the pathologist," said Detective Martin Hewlett. "The case is still too preliminary to comment on charges."

The tow truck driver found the body late Sunday after hauling away Liddell's car because it was on a street that's off limits to parking during snowy weather so that snowplows can keep the street clear.
