City of Henderson programs

CHildren, 5-12, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants over the age of 13 may travel unescorted if registered by a parent or guardian.
Buses will depart from Kesterson Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris Street, at 3 a.m. and from the Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway, at 3:30 a.m.
Participants will enjoy a tour of Universal Studios, the world's largest working film and television studio. The studio also offers more than 400 acres of rides, shows and behind-the-scenes secrets.

Henderson Parks and Recreation will host a Zoo Review event for preschoolers from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 21 at Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road. Participation for children, ages 3-5, is $5.
Zoo Review is a hands-on workshop that will teach children how to prepare simple food items, sing songs and put on finger plays. The event is named after the workshop's "zoo" theme.
Advanced registration for the event is required; call 565-2880.
A two-part Hunter's Safety Workshop will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 21 and 22 at Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway, Henderson. The workshop is open to participants 12 and older and costs $5.
The workshop is sponsored by Henderson Parks and Recreation and the Nevada Department of Wildlife. Participants successfully completing the workshop will earn a hunter's safety card.
