The 45-year-old woman was booked Friday night into the Washoe County Jail after being involved in a minor traffic accident in Reno.
The Nevada Highway Patrol said her car was southbound on Hunter Lake Drive when it drifted into a parked truck. Spangler was alone and escaped unharmed.
Reno police called the NHP to investigate the accident since Spangler is a city employee.
She works in the community relations division of the city manager's office.
Troopers said Spangler denied she had been drinking.
