Gates’ apology insincere; voters will repudiate her

The best way to restore public trust in county government is for Gates to resign. Blaming the media and everyone else for her wrongdoing will get her nowhere. Ms. England (her lawyer) may not like the word guilty, but a violation of state ethics rules mean someone is guilty in my book, and no play on words will change the concept.
Having Jesse Scott get a posse together against the media is ludicrous. People are getting fed up with "racist" being hurled every time a person of color does something wrong and gets censured for it. No matter what color you are, if you do something wrong, you're guilty and ought to take your punishment, instead of whining about being gullible and innocent which, to my knowledge, no politician ever is.
Gates obviously apologized with tongue in cheek as she makes it clear she doesn't think she did anything wrong.
Since you reuse to resign, Ms. Gates, your resignation will be arranged at the next election.
