Driver to receive ShoWest award in LV

Driver received a Screen Actors Guild nomination for Outstanding Perormance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her role in "Good Will Hunting." In the movie, which was directed by Gus Van Sant and produced by Lawrence Bender, Driver plays a college student who becomes Damon's love interest. Driver can also be seen in Paramount's thriller "Hard Rain" with Christian Slater and Morgan Freeman.

Audiences will next see Driver in "The Governess, a love story from Sony Pictures Classics, written and directed by Sandra Goldbacher. Driver portrays a young woman in the 1840s, who is forced to hide her Jewish heritage to secure a job as a governess after the murder of her father. Fascinated by photography, the governess begins to examine the difference between reflecting reality and creating your own reality. "The Governess" was filmed in England and Scotland and is slated for an early-summer release.

Driver is in production on the John Huddles' feature "At Satchem Farm" with Nigel Hawthorne and Rufus Sewell. In addition to starring in the film, she is executive producing under the Two Drivers banner, the production company she heads with her sister Kate.

Past recipients of the Female Star of Tomorrow Award include Claire Danes, Cameron Diaz, Juliette Lewis, Nicole Kidman and Winona Ryder.

Held annually, ShoWest is a convention devoted exclusively to the motion picture industry, attracting delegates from dozens of countries. The ShoWest Awards are presented by the National Association of Theater Owners and the National Association of Theater Owners of California/Nevada.
