UNLV Men and Women win at Winter Invite

Both the UNLV men's and women's team captured first-place finishes in the university division of UNLV's annual Winter Invite.
The men edged Tennessee 753-749 and the women scored 546 while their nearest competitor UC Santa Barbara scored 249.
In final-day action, 16-year old Natalie Coughlin came to within a half second of another American record in the 200 back with her time of 1:53.45. She set an American record on Saturday night with a time of 52.55 in the 100 back. Olympian Amanda Beard had a first place showing in the 200 breast as she outpaced her competitors with a time of 2:13.56.
Top Rebel finishes on the men's side included Michael Rosen's first place result in the 1650 free (15:51.88) and Tomasz Piotrowski's third place finish in the 200 back. Erik Scalise also had a strong performance in the 200 back, earning a fourth in 1:52.59. The 400 freestyle relay team won the last event of the night to secure the Rebel win.
In women's action, Victoria Naess swam to fifth place in the 100 free (52.86) and Tera Sherard finished seventh in the 1650 free.
