Governor’s mansion remodeling should finish Jan. 22

The plan was to have all work done in time for Guinn's inauguration on Jan. 4, but a late start and recent snows pushed the completion date back a few weeks.
The 1909 southern colonial mansion is getting new carpeting, wall coverings, draperies, wood and marble flooring as well as a kitchen expansion.
The $5 million renovation, funded through donations, also includes a new building, just north of the mansion, for group events. That won't be completed until mid-February.
