Washoe County Juvenile Master Frances Doherty on Monday rejected pleas from the boys' parents to release them from Wittenberg Hall.
Prosecutors said youths, 16 and 17, face possible charges of burglary, conspiracy, destruction of property and possession of alcohol.
The two on Saturday allegedly smashed computers, desks and electronic equipment, as well as musical instruments and fish tanks. Damage to eight classrooms was estimated in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Washoe County sheriff's deputies said the vandalism occurred after the two teens and another had been drinking. The other youth did not participate in the crime.
