Letter: Hospice care is better alternative than Kevorkian
Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998 | 11:51 a.m.
It's called hospice care and it's available to any person with a life-limiting illness of six months or less in our community.
Instead of reciting facts and figures, listen to the actual voices of real people from Clark County who have written to us about their experience with hospice.
"I cannot thank you enough for your loving care both to my husband and to myself ... "
"The gates of eternity are near you, and it reflects in all you do ... "
"We were both treated with exceptional care and concern."
"I couldn't have done it without you -- thanks from the bottom of my heart."
There are many, many more of these letters expressing the heartfelt thanks of hundreds and hundreds of local families for whom hospice care was provided to their loved one.
Ultimately what we choose at the end of life will always be a profoundly personal decision. But those choices should include hospice care. The six licensed hospice programs in Clark County are ready to serve any who need our special kind of caring, support and compassion.
