Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998 | 9:40 a.m.
In the ethics charge, Jones is accused of failing to follow judicial canons that require judges to avoid the appearance of impropriety.
It is alleged that Jones violated the Nevada Code of Judicial Conduct by failing to disqualify himself from a child custody case involving Dr. Paul Stewart after accepting campaign contributions from Stewart's attorney.
Jones ran unsuccessfully for the Nevada Supreme Court in 1996.
