School bus-truck crash results in minor injuries
Friday, Dec. 11, 1998 | 9:43 a.m.
Investigators said the Bently Nevada Corp. truck pulled onto the highway from Airport Road just after dusk Thursday.
The bus, headed back to Carson City from Minden, was spun 180 degrees and ended up facing south.
There were 28 pupils, two coaches and three adults on the bus, including the seventh- and eighth-grade basketball teams from Eagle Valley Middle School.
Parents waited anxiously at the school while pupils were transferred to another bus.
All of the pupils were examined by Carson City paramedics before they were released to their parents.
Damage to the bus included a large gash down the passenger side, windows imploded, and damage to the rear axle.
The truck had extensive damage to the left front and front of the truck.
Investigators said the truck failed to yield for the stop sign at the end of the road.
