Charlotte R. Azevedo, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 24, 1936, in San Bernardino, Calif. A resident for 31 years, she was a retired casino cashier.
She is survived by one son, Lloyd Johnson, and her mother, Leona, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Loria Barris of Denver; and one grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Carmen Victoria Vazquez Bague
Carmen Victoria Vazquez Bague, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 23, 1914, in Puerto Rico. A resident for seven years, she was a nurse and interior designer.
She is survived by three sons, Papote Varet and Jose Rivera, both of Las Vegas, and Radames Calvo of Puerto Rico; two daughters, Loyda Calvo of Las Vegas and Sandra Rivera of Maryland; two brothers, Benjamin Vazquez and Eddie Vazquez, and three sisters, Ida Vazquez, Elizabeth Vazquez and Pura Vazquez, all of Puerto Rico; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Owen Y. Baker
Owen Y. Baker, 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born May 1, 1925, in Lima, Ohio. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired Air Force technical sergeant and World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lilyan; one daughter, Wendy Baker, and one son, Brad D. Baker, both of Las Vegas.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

John R. Childress
John R. Childress, 65, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 12, 1933, in Roanoke, Va. A resident for three years, he was a retired federal government air traffic controller and a Korean War Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two daughters, Debra Wilkinson of Las Vegas and Donna Reed of Orange County, Calif.; four sons, William Childress of St. George, Utah, Robert Childress of Pittsburgh, John Childress of Riverside, Calif., and Charles Childress of Orange County, Calif.; one sister, Patricia Minoui of Dallas; two brothers, Curtiss Childress of North Carolina and Fred Childress of Fresno, Calif.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-4 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Evelyn Maria Crapanzano
Evelyn Maria Crapanzano, 56, of Red Bluff, Calif., died Wednesday in Red Bluff. She was born Aug. 2, 1942, in New Jersey. A former Las Vegas resident until 10 months ago, she was employed by Wal-Mart and enjoyed working with crafts and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; three daughters, Laureen Holden of Red Bluff, Janice Crapanzano of Clear Lake, Calif., and Maria Harouff of Reno; one sister, Tresa Michura of Chester, N.J.; and four grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers, Red Bluff, is handling arrangements.

James Robertson Davis
James Robertson Davis, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 8, 1923, in Tuckerman, Ark. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired machinist and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Dolores Conrad of San Diego; one brother, Billy Davis of Long Beach, Calif.; one sister, Betty Bigelow of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one half hour prior to 3:30 p.m. services Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Joseph Decavitch
Joseph Decavitch, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 29, 1915, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 21 years, he was a crane operator for a construction company and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph Decavitch of Las Vegas and Ronald Decavitch of Ohio; one daughter, Joanne Paul of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jo Ann Eval
Jo Ann Eval, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 18, 1930, in India, Texas. A resident for 34 years, she was a day-care center owner.
She is survived by her husband, Wilson; six sons, Getty Eval of Eunice, La., Jerry Eval of Tampa, Fla., and Joe Eval, Mike Eval, John Eval and Mark Eval, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Lois Owen, and one brother, Bobby "Jack" Neal, both of Lubbock, Texas; and 14 grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 2 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Muriel E. Haig
Muriel E. Haig, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born March 20, 1914, in Etna, Maine. A resident for 39 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, all of Maine.
Mass will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 315 S. Casino Center Blvd. The date is pending. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Valentina Anna Hoffman
Valentina Anna Hoffman, 87, of Las Vegas died Dec. 3 in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 19, 1911, in Riga, Latvia. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired beautician and a member of the Widowers Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Ines Hellendall of Las Vegas; one sister, Zenta Gudrups of Whittier, Calif.; and one grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

June E. Howard, 81, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 2, 1917, in Wisconsin. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; two sons, Walter Howard of Florida and Dennis Howard of Wisconsin; two daughters, Gayle Makey and Tamylyn Brown, and one brother, Neil Lube, all of Florida; and 11 grandchildren.

Vernon Lynn Jemison, 59, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 4, 1939, in W. Frankfort, Ill. A resident for 30 years, he was an employee at Harrah's.
He is survived by one son, John Jemison of Brentwood, Calif.; and one brother, Gary Jemison of West Frankfort.

Cleopus Johns, 84, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. He was born June 11, 1914, in Texas. A resident for 54 years, he was a dealer.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise; one son, Cleopus Johns Jr.; one sister, Minnie Baker; 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Monday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Monday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Steve Larkin, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born March 18, 1929. A resident for many years, he was retired.

Virginia Ruth Lee
Virginia Ruth Lee, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 26, 1935, in Memphis, Tenn. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker, cashier and hotel manager and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
She is survived by her husband, Richard W.; two stepdaughters, Kathy Wilson of Kearneyville, W.Va., Helen Nichols of Siloam Springs, Ark.; one stepson, R.W. Lee of Pawhuska, Okla.; and three grandchildren.

Estelle M. Lewis, 64, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born May 25, 1934, in London. A resident for nine years, she was retired.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene; two sons, Philip Charles Vine of London and David Jeremy Vine of North Summerset, England; one brother, Michael Brian Charles of Southend, England; and three grandchildren.

Mary Jane McCoy, 69, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born May 8, 1929, in Ohio. A resident for nine years, she was a nurse's aide.
She is survived by two sons, Robert J. Malek and David J. Malek; and two daughters, Paula J. Malek and Susan Jane Malek.

Helen Esther McIlwain, 69, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 20, 1929, in Ohio. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Frank, and two daughters, Catena McIlwain and Carla Meckler, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Phil Galipo of Ohio; three sisters, Mary Murach of Las Vegas and Florence Travigllia and Rose Hlad, both of Ohio; and two grandchildren.

George Leslie McMackin Sr., 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 11, 1930, in Missouri. A resident for six years, he was a cement mason.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva; two sons, George McMackin Jr. of California and Richard McMackin of Tennessee; five daughters, Cheryl James, Linda Manning, Shirley McKenzie and Mary Oneil, all of California, and Vickie Temple of Las Vegas.

Lillian Elizabeth Miskulin
Lillian Elizabeth Miskulin, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Minnesota. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Croation Fraternal Organization.
She is survived by her husband, Rudolph; three sons, Gerald Miskulin of Long Beach, Calif., Ronald Miskulin of Seattle and George Miskulin of Fresno, Calif.; one brother, Carl Edward Johnson, and one sister, Elaine Johnson, both of Duluth, Minn.; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 5 p.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society.

Tammy Jacqueline Nuno, 25, of Las Vegas died Sunday. She was born Aug. 26, 1973, in Zuni, N.M. A resident for 10 years, she was a student at the University of Phoenix and a member of the Zuni Tribe in New Mexico.
She is survived by her fiance, Theodore Tso of Las Vegas; her mother, Jacqueline Whidden, and her father, Reuben Nuno, both of Reno; one brother, Jeffrey Nuno of Phoenix; two aunts, Jessie Chamberlain of Las Vegas and Lavita Torrez of Gallup, N.M.; and her grandmother, Josiphine Paquin of Gallup.

Sima Park, 91, of Henderson died Thursday in Boulder City. She was born Feb. 6, 1907, in Telluride, Colo. A resident for 68 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Laila Paglia of Boulder City; two sons, James Park of Henderson and Bob Park of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Raymond F. Poniewaz
Raymond F. Poniewaz, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 30, 1914, in Milwaukee. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired businessman and World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Sandy Duffy of Las Vegas; two sons, Raymond R. Poniewaz of Las Vegas and Gerald Poniewaz of Milwaukee; one brother, Leonard Poniewaz of Milwaukee; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Donald Rogers, 64, of Las Vegas died Nov. 24 in Las Vegas. A resident for five years, he was born Feb. 8, 1934, in Indiana.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Diane Lenox.

Janet Marie Sandbeck
Janet Marie Sandbeck, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 19, 1931, in New Jersey. A resident for 24 years, she was a business manager for a retail furniture company.
She is survived by two sons, Clifford Ricci and James Ricci; and one brother, Jackie Anderson of Lakewood, N.J.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Benjamin L. Smith
Benjamin L. Smith, 82, of Pahrump died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 16, 1916, in Baltimore. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired University of Nevada, Reno professor from 1961-1981, set up a CPA office in 1982, was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, earned his MBA from the University of Ohio, elected to Valley Electric Corp in Pahrump 10 years ago and has served as its president for the last several years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances; six daughters, Karen Greco of Portland, Ore., Beverly Bayan and Brenda Bradley, both of Reno, Diane Wakefield of Whittier, Calif., Patricia Barclay of Roseburg, Ore., and Jerri Matthews of Pinio Hills, Calif.; two sons, Wayne L. Smith of Key West, Fla., and Brian Smith of Boca Raton, Fla.; one sister, Jane Sims of Lancaster, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Pahrump Valley High School Theater. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Dolores Ailene Ward, 79, of Pahrump died Dec. 4 in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 22, 1919, in Pennsylvania. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, James C. Myers of Pennsylvania and David W. Ward of Arizona; one daughter, Donna Cook of Pahrump; two brothers, Robert T. Yinger and Grace M. Zellers, both of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Fred Lewis Wilcox
Fred Lewis Wilcox, 45, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 19, 1953, in Los Angeles. A resident for 24 years, he was a home detailer for a construction company.
He is survived by one brother, Leonard Wilcox of Kansas City, Mo.; and one sister, Jan Waters of Woodridge, Ill.
