Robert Stanley Allmer, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. He was born April 6, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for two months, he was retired from the Merchant Marines.

He is survived by his wife, Irma; one son, Richard Allmer of Palmdale, Calif.; two daughters, Thora Donovan and Susan Allmer, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Hal Allmer of Fort Meyers, Fla., and Eugene Allmer of Edison, N.J.; three sisters, Audrey Launay and Dorothy Byrne, both of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Alice Small of New Jersey; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., handled arrangements.

Emma Lou Amen

Emma Lou Amen, 59, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 21, 1939, in Alabama. A resident for six years, she was a cook at a local hospital.

She is survived by her husband, James; two sons, Arthur Dean of Ontario, Calif., and Franki Dean of Rochester, Minn.; one daughter, Helene Padron of Las Vegas; her mother, Clara Morrison; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Rosalie Anne Atkinson

Rosalie Anne Atkinson, 55, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. A bookkeeper for a cabinetry door company, she was born Sept. 21, 1943.

She is survived by one son, Mark Brendel.

Graveside services were scheduled at 9:15 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Gloria Jean Weathers Britton

Gloria Jean Weathers Britton, 43, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A lifetime resident, she was born Nov. 15, 1955, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by two daughters, Sabrina Weathers and Shaviona Britton, her mother, Maxine Weathers, three brothers, Willie Weathers, Billy Weathers and Jerry Weathers, and two sisters, Alice Weathers and Carmen Livingston, all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Francis G. Geraci Jr.

Francis G. Geraci Jr., 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 27, 1925, in Annapolis, Md. A resident for eight years, he was a retired armored car salesman, a World War II Army veteran, a member of American Legion Post 76, Desert Shores Community Association and Walk To Emmaus Community.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; one daughter, Kathryn Patrice Valley of Baltimore; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 6670 W. Cheyenne Ave. A reception will follow at the church. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Joseph Gerber

Joseph Gerber, 52, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1946, in Camden, N.J. A resident for one year, he was a production manager for a manufacturing company and a member of the Elks in Dallas.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Gayle Gentile of Englewood, Fla.; two daughters, Monique Gerber of Garland, Texas, and Jenee Marie Gerber of Las Vegas; and one brother, Earl Eugene Gerber of Englewood.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

David Fred Holle

David Fred Holle, 59, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 28, 1939, in Texas. A resident for many years, he was an oil company manager.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; and one son, David Holle of Texas.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

John Horvat Sr.

John Horvat Sr., 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1914, in Chicago. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired aeronautics technician and a World War II Air Force veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Horvat and Joyce Vestal, and one son, John Horvat Jr., all of Las Vegas; one sister, Mary Garby of Chicago; one brother, Tony Horvat of California; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to noon services Saturday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Douglas Brice Irons

Douglas Brice Irons, 65, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 27, 1933, in Staten Island, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, he was a security officer for the power company and a Korean War and Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Parn; one daughter, Linda Kunz, and one son, Prayute Tuppa, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Robert L. Johnston

Robert L. Johnston, 80, of Boulder City died Friday in Boulder City. He was born Dec. 27, 1917, in Wooster, Ohio. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired president of a mechanical products company and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Luise H.; one daughter, Judy L. Johnston of Las Vegas; one son, Roy Lee Johnston of Pioche; two sisters, Joanne White of Shrieve, Ohio, and Norma Miller of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Thomas Edward Kenney

Thomas Edward Kenney, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 17, 1917, in San Francisco. A resident for 18 years, he was a firefighter, retired from the Merchant Marines and had worked for American President Lines.

He is survived by his wife, Tonya; one son, Dennis Kenney of Petaluma, Calif.; three daughters, Corinne Morin of Orick, Calif., Bonnie Olan of Glendale, Calif., and Sharon McCovey of Hoopa, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Richard Lewis Sr.

Richard Lewis Sr., 68, of Las Vegas died Dec. 3 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 6, 1930, in Alabama. A longtime resident, he was a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Marion; two daughters, Evelyn Henry of New Orleans and Angela Williams of Cleveland; four sons, Richard Young of New Orleans, Loversier Lewis of Cleveland, Richard Lewis Jr. of Los Angeles and Steven Lewis of Las Vegas; four brothers, Percy Lewis of Birmingham, Ala., Linburgh Lewis of Roanoke, Va., Joe Lewis of Pensacola, Fla., Clifford Lewis of Atlanta; three sisters, Rebecca Lewis of Cleveland, Doris Gipso of Lansing, Mich., and Vivian Harvey of Chicago; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 6 p.m. today at Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to noon services Friday in Community Baptist Church, Henderson. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Marguerite Faye Mallette

Marguerite Faye Mallette, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 31, 1923, in Conrad, Mont. A resident for one month, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two daughters, VickyJo Galusha of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Jeri Elletson of Ballo, Mo.; one son, Tom Mallette of Anaheim, Calif.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

William Arthur Meyer

William Arthur Meyer, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 9, 1919, in St. Louis. A resident for 12 years, he was a member of the Rifleman's Club.

He is survived by four daughters, Darlyne Lebon of Las Vegas, Dena K. Markley of Arizona and Billy Jo Mayo and Merrie Jean Pier, both of Arkansas; one brother, Art Meyer of Yuma, Ariz.; one sister, Marie Heck of St. Louis; and many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Charles P. Rickard

Charles P. Rickard, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 8, 1924, in Schary, N.Y. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired bar owner and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Roxanne Rickard of Anchorage, Alaska, and Robin Rickard and Helen Rickard, both of Las Vegas; one brother, David Rickard of Kodiak, Alaska; two sisters, Peg Jones and Mary Hughes, both of Altamont, N.Y.; and one grandchild.

Anne Y. Qualls

Anne Y. Qualls, 91, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A resident for 12 years, she was born Jan. 28, 1907, in Texas.

She is survived by one daughter, Jo Ann Sanders of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Oldean Rhodine

Oldean Rhodine, 87, of Las Vegas died Friday in California. She was born March 7, 1911, in Texas. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four sisters, Billie R. Warren, Mildred Edwards and Ladelle Howerton, all of California, and Mamie Washam of Texas.

Graveside services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Eden Vale Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Charles Rinehart

Charles Rinehart, 60, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born May 4, 1938, in Vichy, Mo. A resident for 29 years, he was a retired Delta Airlines customer service agent, an Air Force veteran, a member and past master of Nellis Masonic Lodge Post 46 F&AM, a member of Scottish Rite Bodies of Las Vegas and a member and past director of the Clown Unit at the Zelzah Shrine Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; one daughter, Teresa Oxborrow, and one son, Scott Bedford, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Carol Walker of Lebanon, Mo.; two brothers, Donald Rinehart of Indian Harbor Beach, Fla., and Wayne Rinehart of Fairland, Okla.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon-6 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Della Sandoval

Della Sandoval, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born May 22, 1912, in Santa Barbara, Calif. A resident for 50 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Joe Sandoval of Las Vegas; three daughters, Lorraine Trout of Carlsbad, Calif., Maxine Lindner of Rolling Hills Estates, Calif., and Eleanor Wilson of Las Vegas; one sister, Aurora Prevedello of Ventura, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Jermell 'G Wiz' Smith

Jermell 'G Wiz' Smith, 35, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 24, 1963, in Greenville, Miss. A resident for six years, he was a bail bondsman, an Army veteran and a recent graduate of Nevada Career Institute.

He is survived by his fiancee, Ingrid; one son, Thomas Smith of Ferriday, La.; his mother, Willie Mae Wilson of Greenville, Miss.; two brothers, Thomas Smith of Chicago and Arnett Wilson of Greenville; and three sisters, Pat Middleton and Rolandia Mitchel, both of Sacramento, and Debra Jones of Columbus, Miss.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2:30 p.m. services Friday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be in Greenville.

James E. Veach

James E. Veach, 59, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 3, 1939, in Mangum, Okla. A resident for 14 years, he was an automobile mechanic and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Carol A.; four daughters, Cyndi Medford of Colorado Springs, Colo., Lynda Kida and Carol Elizabeth Orton, both of Las Vegas, and Virginia Ann Lamphere of Blythe, Calif.; six sons, James Veach Jr. of Montana, Max Veach of Oklahoma, Michael Veach, Stephen Layland, David Layland and Daniel Layland, all of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 10-11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, followed by graveside services in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
