Vernon Mouck, 44, was charged with robbery, burglary and home invasion Tuesday, Metro police said.

Several people forced their way into a local apartment at 7:30 p.m. Monday, police said. The suspects demanded money they claim was owed to them for moving expenses, beat the resident, took some jewelry and said they would return to collect the money.

Detectives arrested Mouck after a surveillance.

HOLD-UPS -- A robbery at a West Sahara Avenue bar Wednesday at 2:40 a.m. is connected to three other robberies under investigation by detectives, Metro police say.

In all of the robberies, a person has entered a restroom and momentarily emerged brandishing a small, semiautomatic handgun, police said. The suspect has demanded money of the bartender and upon receiving it, has ordered the bartender into the restroom before making his escape, police said.

The only person in the bar in all four robberies has been the bartender, police said. On two occasions, police said, the suspect escaped in a small, maroon or burgundy, long-bed pickup.

The suspect is described as a white man, 28 to 35 years old, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 160 to 175 pounds with blond or light brown hair. The first robbery occurred at a bar on South Rainbow Boulevard at about 4:25 a.m. Nov. 30. The second occurred at 2 a.m. Monday at a bar on North Decatur Boulevard and the third occurred at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday at a bar on West Sahara.

SCHOOLS -- Henderson developer Warm Springs Commercial Property Partners will present 1.3 acres today to the Community College of Southern Nevada for a new high-tech center adjacent to Green Valley High School.

College officials were scheduled to accept the land gift at 2 p.m. at a ceremony at the school.

Officials would like to develop the high-tech center to be shared by college and high school students as part of an innovative partnership between the college and university system and the school district.

Lawmakers last year approved two $5 million high-tech centers for Palo Verde and Western High Schools, to be used by both college and high school students.

CCSN plans to seek funding next year for three new high-tech centers -- the one at Green Valley, one at Pahrump Valley High School and an unnamed site.

Warm Springs Commercial Property Partners is part of the Dunn Company Partnerships, a group of commercial and retail developers.

ARREST -- John "June Bug" Williams, 16, wanted in connection with a shooting death over the weekend, was arrested without incident by Metro Police patrol officers Wednesday.

He has been booked into the Clark County jail on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon.

Investigators said a 30-year-old man was shot to death as he stood inside the doorway to his apartment in the 2900 block of Elm Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday.

Homicide Sgt. Rocky Alby said Williams' brother witnessed the shooting and attempted to restrain the teenager but was unsuccessful.

Alby said three shots were fired into the victim's apartment, one of them striking him in the chest.

Williams is a convicted felon, having service time for armed robbery.
