"We are opening in Texas," said local franchise owner Lincoln Spoor.
The Texas location will be a "cold shop," where doughnuts will be processed and sold, but not fried. Krispy Kreme opened its first Las Vegas store, at 7015 W. Spring Mountain Road, in March.
In addition to Texas Station, Spoor said the company is looking at opening shops in other Station Casinos properties, and at one Strip casino he declined to identify.
"We are negotiating ... with Station Casinos about some of their properties now," said Spoor.
Krispy Kreme also plans to open three more stand-alone shops over the next year or so, said Spoor. In May, the company will open a store at an as yet undecided location in Green Valley. A store at Flamingo Road and Maryland Parkway will follow in October, and one at Martin Luther King Blvd. and Craig Road is planned for early 2000.
