SUN STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS
An advisory committee at the Community College of Southern Nevada has endorsed men's baseball and women's softball as the school's first intercollegiate sports programs. With competitive play projected for the spring 2000 season, a search has begun for two part-time head coaches to begin work next month.
The Board of Regents last month approved CCSN's athletics program and self-supporting budget. The initial start-up cost of $50,000 will be provided from the college's non-tax discretionary funds.
CCSN is considering joining the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference, part of the National Junior College Athletic Association's Region I.
