Southern Cal athletic director Mike Garrett, the man who forced new UNLV head football John Robinson out at USC a year ago following a bitter power struggle, nonetheless believes the Rebels made a good choice by hiring Robinson.
"With his name, he'll bring some credibility (to UNLV)," Garrett said from his Pasadena home Wednesday night. "He's had success in the college ranks. UNLV for many years has tried to develop a football program. With some good staff members, I think he'll do a good job."
So Garrett agrees with move?
"I think it's a building block for their program and he's a good person to build it with," Garrett said. "I wish him all the luck in the world."
