County Commission finalizes plans for pedestrian bridges
Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998 | 9:21 a.m.
The Flamingo Hilton and Barbary Coast had been arguing over the location of an overpass that will connect the resorts to Caesars Palace across the street.
The commission granted the bridge to the Barbary Coast despite arguments from a Flamingo Hilton representative that the Barbary Coast is too small to deserve an exclusive bridge.
A Barbary Coast attorney had argued that the Flamingo Hilton was jealous of its corner location.
Mirage Resorts has already built pedestrian bridges connecting Bellagio with Caesars Palace and Bally's. But Caesars Palace, Bally's, Barbary Coast and the county had been unable to reach a deal on the other bridges.
