StumbleBrief: UNLV economic indicator rises

UNLV's Center for Business and Economic Research said the index is a forecast for the performance of the local economy in March 1999 based on September 1998 data.
Six of the index's 10 factors rose in September including residential construction, taxable sales, gasoline sales, gaming revenue, visitor volume and convention attendance.
"All in all, the index continues to suggest no change in the pattern of business activity," a UNLV report said.
