Brief: Nordstrom may reveal LV plans

Preview, an event for national and local leaders to discuss the state of the area's economy, is sponsored jointly by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and the Nevada Development Authority. The event is scheduled Jan. 7 at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Nordstrom Inc. is a Seattle fashion specialty retailer with 97 stores in 22 states, including 67 full-line stores, 24 Nordstrom Racks, one clearance store, two free-standing shoe stores and three Faconnable boutiques. Experts have speculated that Nordstrom has been evaluating the Las Vegas market and is considering stores in some of the new malls to be built in the city in the next decade.

Preview '99 speakers will discuss business trends in gaming, finance, entertainment and real estate in Las Vegas.
