Rodeo's biggest show turns 40
The first National Finals Rodeo was staged in 1959 in Dallas with a modest purse of $50,000. After three years in the Lone Star State, the NFR went west to Los Angeles for three years before settling in Oklahoma City for two highly successful decades.

Rodeo wants to build LV business contacts
The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association plans to beef up its business contacts in Las Vegas in the wake of a 10-year contract extension for the National Finals Rodeo.
National group targets federal caps on Medicare HMO payments
Karen Ignagni, president and chief operating officer of the American Association of Health Plans, said that the capitation percentage -- a lump sum paid for the care of each patient rather than negotiated fees for service -- is unfair for health maintenance organizations to provide services to seniors. State threatens DOE on nuke shipments
